An important aspect in the mission of the Department of Information is to build good relations and share accurate information with the foreign media. On 30 October 2023, Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Director-General of the Department of Information and MFA Spokesperson, along with Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Deputy Director-General, and members of the Department, were invited by the Board and Members of Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT) to join in a friendly get-together with members of the foreign media that are stationed in, and cover news on Thailand from various news agencies.

On this occasion, Ms. Lisa Martin, FCCT President, welcomed the Director-General and representatives of the Department of Information. The Director-General then thanked the FCCT for this amiable initiative and highlighted the importance of proactive ‘people’ diplomacy and major policies under the new Government, with emphasis on economy, trade and investment, technology and innovation, as well as the green transition. She also reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support for and strong cooperation with the foreign media community in Thailand.
