On 16 August 2024, Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information, welcomed the Cambodian media delegation during their visit to Thailand and briefed them on the role of the Department's missions, the Ministry's proactive economic diplomacy and the promotion of Public and Cultural Diplomacy.

The Deputy Director-General also shared with the delegation various channels and platforms of communication the Department use to promote Thailand’s positive narrative and image. The two sides also exchanged views and ways to further collaborate on numerous fields, especially counter fake news effort.

The Cambodian media’s visit programme to Thailand project was established to promote experience sharing between the media of the two countries, including building mutual trust of the press and fostering people-to-people interactions between Thailand and Cambodia through the collaboration from Thai Journalists Association and Royal Thai Embassy, Phnom Penh.
