On 26 August 2024, Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, met with Mr. Bounthala Panyavichith, Director-General of the Press Department and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR in Vientiane. Both sides exchanged views and shared best practices on various issues in the area of public communication such as establishing the network of Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the region, Digital Diplomacy, Strategic Communication, Cultural Diplomacy and Public Diplomacy. The Lao PDR side also shared it experience from the ASEAN Chairmanship.
