Thai PBS's “Letter from the Sun: Unforgettable Moment” received the Special Mention Award at the 6th Innovative International Film Festival in Bengaluru, India.

On 18 January 2024, Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Director-General of the Department of Information handed over the Special Mention Award trophy conferred to the short film “Letter from the Sun: Unforgettable Moment” at the 6th Innovative International Film Festival, held in Bengaluru, India, during 12 - 15 October 2023.

Present at the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pavika Sriratanaban, Director of the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, Dr. Dollaya Tiantong, Deputy-Director of the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, Mr. Kris Akkarach, Director of New Media Center, director, screenwriters, representatives from Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, and Thai PBS, along with officials of the Department of Information and the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs.

Broadcasted on the Thai PBS channel, the short film “Letter from the Sun: Unforgettable Moment” is among three short films in a research program under the Multicultural Studies and Social Innovation Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, which aims to promote economic potential of Thai culture. The film won the Special Mention Award from the 6th Innovative International Film Festival in Bengaluru wherein over 150 films from 23 countries also participated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has continuously presented films to international audiences to promote better understanding about Thailand as part of the Ministry’s cultural diplomacy as well as to promote opportunities for Thai films in foreign markets in accordance with the proactive economic diplomacy and the government’s vision to drive forward Thailand’s creative economy.
