On 20 February 2024, Mr. Michael Growder, First Assistant Secretary, Strategic Communications Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia, had a meeting with Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Director General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, both sides shared experiences, exchanged views on the importance of strategic communication to support the implementation of foreign policies, combating fake news, and sought future cooperation between the two departments. This meeting enabled both sides to share different perspectives and practices which can be applied to the work of both departments in the future.
