On September 1, 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore and H.E. Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, together with representatives from the diplomatic corps in Singapore, senior Singaporean officials, and distinguished guests, attended the reception to launch the Thailand-Singapore Commemorative Artwork to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations. The paintings, themed "𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝-𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟔𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬", were co-created by renowned Thai and Singaporean contemporary artists: Mr. Thaweesak Srithongdee (Lolay) and Mr. Toby Tan (Tobyato).

This event marks the beginning of a series of activities leading to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore in 2025. It is also part of the “Street Arts through the Lens of Thai and ASEAN Artists” project, organized by the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This initiative features Mr. Thaweesak Srithongdee and his team traveling to ASEAN countries to create artworks with local ASEAN artists. The project aims to raise public awareness of cooperation under the ASEAN framework and to strengthen bilateral relations between Thailand and ASEAN member countries. Singapore is the third stop on this project, following previous activities in Indonesia and Lao PDR. The Philippines will be the last country for the project.
